I'm Dr. Tracy-ann Aston and I help STEM settings inspire girls & women to pursue a career in science. I am the author of The Really Useful Book of Science Experiments and The Really Useful Book of Secondary School Science Experiments. I am a passionate champion for the greater participation of women in STEM subjects and careers. If science is to serve society, it must do so by having the group that makes up 51% of the population taking an active role. My own love affair with science began when I was a child-I can not pin point the exact date as I simply can not remember a time when I did not consider myself a 'scientist'. From my first telescope to attempting to breed snails in my back garden, science has always been a part of my life. My love of science soon turned into a love of teaching science when I discovered there was a job that involved talking about science all day. I have been teaching science since 2006 and have worked with children from 6 years old up to 18 (and beyond!). I help STEM educational settings such as schools, colleges, universities, and other educational organisations such as museums, create an inclusive and inspiring place for girls and women. For speaking events, I deliver presentations and talks to a wide-range of audiences (both academic and non-academic) on the topic of girls and women in STEM. My research background ensures that my talks contain reliable and up-to-date statistics. I am not afraid to tackle controversial subjects and to explore the current debates within STEM education.

I hack ideas
TEDx event organizer (of the 2nd largest event in the UK by YouTube views), TEDx speaker, and coach -- I help people find and develop the most impactful ideas inside them and become TEDx speakers in a matter of weeks. Profound, world-changing ideas aren't the stuff of accident or decades of experience, there is a process that anyone can use to find the one-in-a-billion idea inside them that they can use to reach the most competitive stages in the world. *** As a TEDx event organizer, I realized there were many people who wanted to share a big idea, but they did a terrible job of standing out from the crowd of other applicants (even award-winning speakers, CEOs, bestselling authors, PhDs etc). Over the past 5 years I've been developing and refining a methodology to allow anyone to find the idea inside them that they are a thought leader in. Their one-in-a-billion message. Highly impactful ideas aren't accidental, they don't depend on inspiration...no..they can be created over time. What's happened? My first talk ever was a TEDx talk, clients have come to me after getting turned down for years (and been successful with me in weeks), and many more realized they had a massive idea inside them and were able to become TEDx speakers, get book deals, get invited on top podcasts, and so on. I share strategies and techniques that can help your audience find the one-in-a-billion message inside them so they can have more impact, get more exposure, and gain more credibility as the go-to expert in their field. Whether your audience are business leaders who want to stand out in their industry as the go-to experts, founders who need to articulate the "why" behind their company so they can get funding, non-profits who want to change the world, or anyone seeking more meaning, purpose, and impact, my strategies can provide massive value.
