I served in Ramadi Iraq from 2005 to 2006. I was awarded the Silver Star for my actions on September 19th, 2005. A day that will be etched into my memory forever. As traumatic a day as that was, I was determined to not let that day define the rest of my life negatively, but rather let it be the spark to catapult my life into what it is today! Operating in small tight knit sniper and surveillance teams, I had the rare opportunity to serve under some of the greatest leaders in the United States military. I have successfully transitioned those skills into a highly successful career in the civilian world.

About 6 years ago Jo’s son and his best mate put two washing machines and two dryers into the back of their old van and started washing clothes for people who were homeless in Brisbane. They started an organisation called Orange Sky. They didn’t know too much about washing clothes so they talked to Jo about coming on board as CEO. Fast forward 7 years and Orange Sky now has 30 vans, 2000 volunteers all over Australia and NZ.
