And my goal is to spread awareness that just because somebody is disabled does not mean that they cannot do something. I am a blind golfer. And I’m looking to spread my message and all forums. I am also a Marine Corps veteran that has been instilled with the motto adapt and overcome. Are use this in my every day life. Later in life, Teresa survived a massive stroke at the age of 29 while pregnant with her fifth child. She was told she would die that night, but she was determined to not only survive, but thrive. She still suffers the effects of that stroke to this day with vision loss and numbness, but she treats those as physical limitations as reminders of how fortunate she is to be alive instead of being bitter or making excuses. Life would test Teresa once again when, after 19 years of marriage, and five children, she was widowed after her husband lost his battle with cancer. Teresa has always chosen to rely on her unfailing positivity to rise above and always keep going no matter what life brings her way. She chooses to be happy, and then and shares how others can find meaning, desire, purpose, and joy in life.
