Lisbeth Kirk is the founder of EUobserver, an independent online newspaper.
Founded in 2000, EUobserver is an influential, independent online newspaper which values free thinking and plain speech. It aims to support European democracy by giving people the information they need to hold the EU establishment to account.
Among top influencers (i.e. MEPs, EU institutions and opinion formers) in Brussels, a recent media survey conducted by Comres/Burson-Marsteller ranked EUobserver as sixth among preferred news sources, just behind The Economist (#5), Financial Times (#4).
EUobserver's main focus is on EU affairs, but it's coverage goes beyond Brussels. Strategic development of the news service, network and methodologies, in particular European cross-border and investigative journalism, is Lisbeth's main job these days.
She is a journalist by profession.
