Raised devoutly Christian, trying to prove I can see when in fact I’m legally blind. Found the value of mentors, a positive attitude about blindness, became a Special Educator & eventually a mother of 2 children with my same vision impairment. Self discovery continued when I found my marriage falling apart after my husband “came out” to me.
