Bio

Daron Larson discovered from personal experience that consistent practice really can make ordinary moments better—including the uncomfortable ones.

Daron is a mindfulness coach who encourages people to develop focus, self-awareness, and resilience. As a parent, social worker, information specialist, and librarian, he has always found purpose in identifying relevant resources to help people more effectively navigate personal and professional challenges.

Daron has practiced mindfulness daily since 2002 and brings his personal expertise and in-depth training to individuals, small groups, and organizations around the world. Using his Attentional Fitness philosophy, Daron meets his trainees where they are and provides personalized guidance, exercises, and resources to help them further their mindfulness practice beyond what they could do on their own.

More than sitting still and noticing their breath, trainees take action and ownership over their mental strength and emotional agility. In the end, they realize becoming more present is a trainable skill and it’s possible to experience a more satisfying relationship with life in an increasingly distracting world.

Daron is based in Columbus, Ohio, and works with clients all around the world.

It’s surprisingly satisfying to pay closer attention to your life without drawing attention to yourself.

How to Apply Mindfulness to Support Healthier Habits

Instead of just adding mindfulness to the list of things we need to do to be healthy, look for ways to apply it to the obstacles related to taking better care of yourself. Learn how to apply mindfulness-related insights and strategies to eating healthier, exercising more often, and getting better sleep.

  • Daron is a gift to all who know him. For over 25 years, I’ve come to rely on his professional expertise and wisdom. My former employer; a regional EAP firm selected Daron as their preferred mindfulness expert to educate and support their employers and workforce. Daron’s presentation style is interactive, engaging & fun with an emphasis on practice; not lecture. He listens and tailors his approach to the audience and individual to ensure depth of understanding. I literally learn something new every time I talk with him. I’d HIGHLY recommend Daron for a team retreat, conference keynote session and individual coaching. His energy is contagious and you’ll understand why the first time you interact with him!

  • I'd heard a lot about meditation, but it never made sense / it was too hard / I got bored until I heard Daron explain at a staff event that mindfulness is really "just" attentional fitness training. That clicked. Plus, his presentation was engaging and humorous. it felt spontaneous and real. He had handouts that were worth taking home. I have Daron quotes taped all over my monitor. I have learned this practice from Daron and it helps me. I work out my attentional muscles as part of my overall fitness practice; good food, lots of walking, enough sleep -- and mindful attention to my life. These things all matter.

  • I can't say enough good things about Daron Larson and his approach to bringing mindfulness to others. He makes it incredibly simple and relatable and FUN! His calm and positive demeanor, as well as really solid guidance have made a difference in my work to bring mindfulness into my life. I met him through a parks and rec program many years ago and at that time he made it clear to all of us that mediation and mindfulness are for everyone. It took me a long time to get going with it, but I now practice every day and it's changed my life. Thanks Daron!

  • Daron is a fantastic speaker and really knows how to bring the topic of mindfulness to the organizational level. He presented a workshop for a group of 60 managers (remotely) and the outcome was fantastic. I received positive feedback from many, with some saying it was the best training we've had. He's dynamic, experienced, and brings a great sense of humor to the room. I hope we can use Daron again on another topic. Feel free to contact me for more info. Thank you,Daron!
