Traditional career development tells us that we need to have a narrowed focused linear trajectory in order to reach our next level of success; that each step in your career should be one on top of another in a fine and clean direction. I’d like to argue that instead of considering our careers and our career path as a ladder that most people follow more of a rock-climbing wall trajectory where pivoting to the side or even backwards sometimes lands in greater leaps and bounds. This presentation offers a unique look at career paths and will inspire audiences to step off the traditional ladder as they think about their next career move.
