LATEST UPDATE

I'm happy to announce I will be touring with the multi-media theater presentation collective Pop-Up Magazine for eight dates at the end of October 2022. The tour will cover eight cities starting in Oakland, California, and ending in Nashville, Tennesse on November seventeenth.

Public speaking is in my blood, you might say. My first encounter with presenting was in 1971 thanks to The Atlanta Braille Project in front of then First Lady Pat Nixon. My presentation was about 7 minutes with me being an early advocate for accessibility for all who were Braille readers.

Fast forward to today. I advocate for diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging principles. An employer can hire a diverse workforce, but do they genuinely feel included in the company culture? Belonging is a new concept that closely correlates with the other three elements, we always feel a part of something when we have a sense of belonging. I teach that important lesson to corporate gatherings and thought leaders within corporations and governments.

If you are looking for a speaker who has encountered these corporate cultural barriers and broke through them then I am your gal. I tell my personal story but also include statistical-based analysis and describe scenarios that allow every group of employees to be empowered to learn, grow and embrace the new concepts of diversity, equity inclusion, and belonging thus removing the former barriers and opening a path for constant team collaboration.

  • Rhonda is wise and funny and has exceptional talent for creating intimacy with audiences, even if that audience is 3000 people at Lincoln Center.

  • I got the opportunity to tell Rhonda and her husband Ben's amazing love story in a short film that debuted on Country Living and Good Housekeeping. As a producer and director, I was overtaken by Rhonda's ability to intimately share, with so much clarity and sweetness, her journey growing up blind and looking for love with a seemingly unabashed attitude. Her humor and kindness made her the ideal subject for a truly human story about overcoming obstacles with grace. My film crew was truly moved by her as were the millions of people that got to see the short film "Love is Blind."

  • I met Rhonda and her husband Ben 3 years back. Rhonda and Ben are both visually impaired and were looking to further their careers and find an intellectual outlet to create an impact and also learn professional skills and get back to the workforce. They not only excelled but found their careers post training. This sounds really easy..right?... not really considering the challenges they both go through. They started leading people, they were practical, humorous, well read and disciplined. Rhonda and Ben are very humble people, challenges build humility. They had character and they inspired people like me to continue my work with Project Starfish to help more professionals like them. I personally feel anyone looking for a practical inspiration to host Rhonda and Ben. They will tell you about their struggles, their lives, their success and will captivate you. It's worth every bit of it.
