My name is Wendy Pilcher and I am a life-long observer of people and student of psychology. I help people who are fed-up with the thoughts in their head, their limiting beliefs, and insecurities controlling their lives. I speak about and teach how to take back control with a mental health fitness plan designed to change their neural pathways. When we control our saboteurs who live in the negative region of our brain we can teach our brain to access the region where positivity lives and avoid the region where negativity is.
I focus on the Five Guiding Principles to Getting Unstuck - A Mental Fitness Handbook that I am in the process of writing, along with my second book, the Five Core Skills to Getting Unstuck - The Mental Fitness Action Plan.
The Five Guiding Principles are 1. Be 100% Present, there is a reason our lives unfold one moment at a time. 2. Discover your uniqueness, it is our job to discover our uniqueness, develop it, nurture it and share it with the world. 3. Stand in who you are, embrace your life, scars, flaws, and successes they are equally important. and take responsibility for our contribution to circumstances. 4. There is good and bad in everything we do, we need to hold onto the good no matter how small it is and let it carry us through. 5. Always be aware of the ripple effect. we are not alone here. and what we do impacts others.
The five core skills are 1. Mindfulness 2. never assume 3. practice acceptance 4. Communicate clearly 5. The difference between judgment, discernment, and evaluation and when to use them.
I believe our lives are meant to be amazing adventures and we are not meant to be tortured and ridiculed by our own brains. I believe we can each achieve what we want out of life once we have the confidence and the skills to get there.
For so many people this means getting out of our own way and gaining the tools and skills to get anxiety, insecurity, degression, stress, limiting beliefs... the list goes on and on, from stopping us.
I have both my bachelor’s and master’s degrees in psychology and certifications in Positive Intelligence Quotient (PQ) Neuropsychology, DBT (Dialectical Behavioral Therapy), ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy), Life Coaching, and Brain Health Coaching.
I am a member of the American Psychological Association (APA) Member APA and the following APA divisions: Div 6: Society for Behavioral Neuroscience and Comparative Psychology
Member APA Div 40: Society for Clinical Neuropsychology Member APA Div 56: Trauma Psychology
I was born in New York and that is where my early foundation was set and raised in the Chicago Suburbs where I still live today.
