Eduardo Homero Tovilla Lara, nacido el 14 de julio de 1969 en la Ciudad de México, encarna disciplina y humildad. Criado como el único hijo varón en una familia de cuatro, abrazó los valores de diligencia y perseverancia desde una edad temprana. Su pasión por el fútbol lo llevó a la cantera del Club América a los 15 años, insinuando un prometedor futuro deportivo. Académicamente tuvo la misma dedicación, obteniendo la Licenciatura en Economía del Instituto Tecnológico Autónomo de México (ITAM) y una Maestría en Administración de Empresas con enfoque en Proyectos de Inversión de la Universidad de las Américas Puebla. El viaje de Eduardo ha estado lleno de alegrías y desafíos. Su matrimonio con Flor Rivera en 1994 terminó en 2002, pero tuvieron éxito en la crianza de dos hijos. Más tarde, en 2006, encontró una compañera de vida que lo apoyó en Lina Pera. Profesionalmente, comenzó su carrera en la Secretaría de Hacienda y Crédito Público de México en 1995, avanzando a puestos destacados en el gobierno de Puebla. La agitación política de 2018 lo llevó a un exilio temporal en Vancouver, Canadá, en 2019, pero regresó a México en 2023 para enfrentar sus desafíos legales. Eduardo Homero Tovilla Lara se dedica a la filantropía y al avance del pádel. A través de su iniciativa, Match Point Pádel Indoor, promueve la inclusión de género y apoya a los jóvenes talentos. In California, he assembled a group of representatives of various faith communities in the USA and the Middle East to consider options for peace in the Holy Land that are based on Biblical and Quranic moral values. The group produced a related white paper that has gained support from various religious and civil society organizations and Stanford University. • Salem presented and discussed research papers on a proposed Islam-West dialogue at the al-Azhar University Graduates’ annual conferences. In 2009, 2012, and 2014, Salem travelled by car from Cairo to Jerusalem on fact-finding tours and to meet with Muslim and other religious leaders in the Levant. • Salem has led several presentations and workshops about the religious undercurrent of the Middle East conflict through the International Organization for Peace (“IOP”), an ad hoc multi-religious research group in Palo Alto, California. • Salem currently lives with his wife and five children in Windsor, Connecticut USA.
