Born from his own experience as a student, Hal Bowman (author/educator/speaker) has dedicated his life to empowering students, teachers, and school administrators to understand and harness the power of Connection. Hal’s expertise and research centers around cultivating this power to completely revolutionize campus culture, transforming it into a purpose-driven, passionate space for both students and educators. During his 20 years in the classroom, Hal became known by one of his principals as the teacher with “the most challenging kids but zero discipline referrals.” Stumped by the phenomenon, his principal began her own research to see what exactly was happening in his classroom. It was simple. It was Connection. After being passed around from campus to campus in his district to share his techniques in hopes of inspiring other educators to recreate similar environments, Hal realized it was absolutely possible to share his knowledge and tools and help students and teachers alike have meaningful experiences in the classroom, catapulting them all into a life rich with success and purpose. For students, when there is Connection in the classroom, there is motivation, preparation, attendance, interest, and a sense of belonging. For teachers, there is excitement, job retention, decreased stress, and passionate leadership. Hal has spent over a decade on the road working, studying, and consulting with the country’s top educational leaders. Through this dedication and effort, he has uncovered specific, powerful strategies that foster Connection in ways that result in lifelong, life-changing relationships for students and educators. Through his researched-based programs he optimizes this work, building the foundation necessary for shifting campus culture in unbelievably effective and profound ways. As one of the most exciting speakers in education today, Hal has the privilege of sharing his dynamic message with tens of thousands of students and teachers every year through his work with schools and districts across the nation. He is also the author of 2 best selling inspirational educational books, Dear Teacher and Thank You, Teacher.

I'm a Brand Consultant, Writer, Artist, and Intuitive Medium. I have spent the last 13 years helping brands and companies of all sizes and industries to discover, define, and document their brand, find their big story, tell it, and sell it. I am a strategist, an educator, and a creator. I am the end-consumer advocate and believe in profiling consumers and audiences beyond their demographics. I'm a remote work advocate and a big supporter of an asynchronous, flexible future of work. I care about brand and content strategy because I care about how language is used, how work gets done, how money gets spent, and how people feel about themselves and each other through it all. Communications is a facet of business that impacts lifestyles, perceptions, biases, interactions, and emotions -- and that makes it important. Advertising and brand content shape our world, inform our culture, mingle with our art, and punctuate the eras of humanity, It matters. I care about diversity, inclusion, accessibility, advocacy for neurodivergent or disabled employees and customers, active anti-racism, and protections for our planet. I care about using marketing and storytelling to make the world better, not just to make some asshole some money. When I'm not developing strategy, I write copy and create content, do some illustration on the side, and I read tarot.
