[email protected] ➡ What does The Food Leadership Group do? If you need help putting together your Food Safety Plan under the new requirements of the Food Safety Modernization Act, we can help. The new regulations are finalized, and FDA will begin to audit to these new standards very soon. ➡ How do you prepare for FSMA? 1. You first need to be trained by an accredited trainer. Get to a class that will certify you as a Preventative Controls Qualified Individual. It will show you what you need to know. 2. Next you need to survey what you have with a GAP analysis. Your old HACCP plan is a good place to start, but it will NOT be enough to meet the new requirements. 3. Develop the Preventative Controls in support of your Food Safety Plan. This is a new way of looking at things, and your program will need to reflect this. Supplier control is very important for everyone. 4. How do you monitor and what do you do when things run off the rails? FDA does not expect perfection, but they do expect action. If something is wrong in your system you can't ignore it. Remember, everything that is in your Food Safety Plan is now accessible by FDA? It is written in a way that is clear and concise? Can you defend it in court? (You may need to if you don't do it right) ➡ How we can help you? The first thing you need to do is realize you are not alone. Experts are out there who can train and assist you. It's easier (and often more cost effective) to do it right the first time and avoid the struggle. We can help you put together a program that will help you comply with FSMA and avoid a lot of headache down the road. ➡ To get started, schedule a call directly with me. Click on the link above. I will personally give you a no obligation assessment of where I think your quality systems stand. You can use that to do it yourself or we can help you out. Either way, you have to act. A robust food safety plan is not an option, it is a requirement.

Rakia Finley is an American software executive, Women in Tech Leader, full-stack developer, Salesforce MVP, mother, private investor, and philanthropist. She is best known for her work with the Obama Administration on their "Girls in STEM" initiative and continues to develop innovative technology solutions and community initiatives that promote diversity. Named FemTech's 2016 & 2017 Powerful Woman Programmer, she is one of the highest-earning African-American females in the software industry and North America's first black female owner of a private software and product development firm. Rakia was raised by a single mother in Portland, Oregon. On weekdays—after school—Rakia would spend her evening in a cubicle waiting for her mother to get off work. This is where Rakia got her first chance to enter data into a custom database; there was no turning back. At 15 years old, Rakia had convinced the Washington Hospital Center to hire her to help their billing department. After three months, the department reported an increase in accuracy, turn around, and detailed data. After one year of working there, Rakia produced the efforts of a five-person database team and moved their 78% paper process to 10% moving their billing system to over a 98% efficiency process in 2002. By 19, she was the founder of PinStripe Consulting, a database development firm. After delivering over 200 custom database solutions to Virginia and Washington, DC nonprofits, she launched Surge Assembly, a full-service software development firm focused on enhancing company revenues and resources. Her determination for better software-led her to build a custom solution for Starwood Hotels in 2006, making them on the first leading hotel, with virtual booking and room management. Credited with creating a more realistic approach to data, innovation, business development, and solution-based engineering, Finley continues to revolutionize how organizations and businesses utilize technology as a resource for enhancing exceptional growth. By 2010, Rakia had reinvented Surge Assembly with a focus on educating leaders on active engineering and software development, with an underlying emphasis on inclusion, diversity, executive mindfulness, and removing bias. Finley has also emerged as an entrepreneur's dream, delivering products that average receiving over $27 million in acquisition in as fast as six months. In 2015, Finley Co-Founded FIN Digital, a full-service senior-level development firm, building artificial intelligence, natural language processors, software, and hardware applications for over 300 founders and organizations. In 2018, Copper & Vine - a creative solutions agency in the business of reimagining - was formed as an augmentation of the FIN Digital work to blend Rakia's passions: architecting award-winning technologies, making companies that scale, and building brands that produce results.

I launched The Mindful Advantage in 2015 to help busy professionals manage stress, increase focus and improve productivity. Essentially I teach peak performance training to people and corporations. I have been practicing Mindfulness Meditation for over 10 years. Prior to starting The Mindful Advantage I worked as a commercial real estate executive, owned and sold a successful construction company, and held high stress jobs on Wall Street. In an effort to find my own work/life/family balance while juggling a demanding career, I began studying Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction Meditation (MBSR). MBSR helped me so much that I felt compelled to teach others how to master and apply these techniques to enhance their own work/life/family balance. I earned my BA at Cornell University, class of ‘91, completed the Practicum in Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction for Professionals at Jefferson Myrna-Brind Center of Integrative Medicine, and also completed the Mindful Schools Curriculum Teaching Qualification Program. I recently guided a meditation session on Capitol Hill as a guest of Ohio Congressman Tim Ryan. I live in New York City with my wife and 2 children.
