Recent papers written by the team have covered topics such as the performance of income assets in a rising rate environment, emerging market portfolio construction (equity, hard, local and corporate debt), infrastructure investing (equity, debt, public and private), geographic diversification in real estate portfolios, reappraising the strategic case for commodities, the link between portfolio turnover and excess returns in active equity funds, and the cyclicality of active management. Upcoming papers include a thought provoker on "What is the point of the equity market?" and one on the European small cap buyout market.
Duncan joined Schroders from Aon Hewitt in March 2016 (previously Hewitt Associates), where he was a principal in the Global Asset Allocation team. There, he was responsible for the development of the firm’s long term strategic capital market assumptions as well as driving its medium term asset allocation views across the full range of traditional and alternative asset classes.
Previous experience includes three years at a corporate finance boutique, where he advised on small cap public and private market capital raisings, as well as M&A activity. He started his career with a two year spell as a trainee investment consultant at Hewitt Associates (now Aon Hewitt).
