Jeremy Fusco, LCSW Fusco was born in Arlington, Texas where he spent most of his formative years as a devotee to punk rock, playing drums, movies, and camping. Fusco found himself graduating high school, obtaining the rank of Eagle Scout, and entering Basic Military Training for the U.S. Air Force within the same week. At almost 12 years in service, he was medically retired from the Air Force and found himself having to come to terms with loss of identity and changes to future plans. Determined to continue service to others, Fusco pursued Social Work through the University of Southern California where he obtained his Master’s in Social Work with a Concentration in Mental Health and Sub-Concentration in Military and Veterans Services. His focus in Social Work is clinical services providing mental health counseling and innovative solutions. Currently, Fusco works as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with clients to address needs including Moral Injury, PTSD, Traumatic Brain Injury, Adjustment, Depression, Anxiety, Relationship Dynamics, and more in an outpatient counseling setting at his private practice, Mind Above, located in the iconic Trammell Crow Center in the Arts District of Downtown Dallas, TX. He has provided Crisis Response in downtown Dallas, Texas after the July 7, 2016 shootings as well as response to Hurricane Harvey victims in/around Crosby, Texas and Hurricane Michael in/around Panama City and Mexico Beach, Florida. Continuing his love to advocate, Fusco provides services that encourage self-reliance and empowerment for each client. Fusco is an ally to the LGBTQ+ Community and has worked to establish awareness and services. Fusco also provides services to justice-involved populations to include Veterans Treatment Court, pre-trial status, and incarcerated. He has provided continuing education to clinicians on best practices, responsivity, and approaches to care. In addition to being the Owner/Founder/Therapist of Mind Above, Fusco serves as the Chief Executive Officer and Co-founder of Set|Ready a 501(c)(3) non-profit. Set|Ready provides support to Military, Veterans, and Military Spouses transitioning to the civilian workforce to deliver “the how-to from those who do.” He is an active alumni board member of the National Association of Social Workers - University of Southern California (NASW-USC) Unit providing support to include mentoring, networking, and technology integration. Fusco is a proponent of perpetual learning and exploration across the lifespan. He brings a penchant for public speaking, a panache for networking, and razzmatazz in the ideas and vision department. He loves the outdoors, BBQ, history, building furniture, and turning wrenches on things.

My life started many decades ago in Switzerland. I was born and raised in Zurich. I didn’t have a master plan for my life. But deep down I longed for a connection that would last a lifetime like everybody else. I thought it would never happen and then I met my husband. My husband is American. We met during his vacation in Switzerland at my sister’s place who was married to his friend. The first thing that captivated me was his big smile. I am a sucker for a great smile. The rest is history. Our long-distance dating was challenging, to say the least. My English was lousy and his German non-existent. But we managed and in 1995 we got married in California (yes, my English improved, lol) and settled near San Francisco. We have been together ever since. Our marriage was not an easy ride. Cultural differences, financial problems, and more. You name it and it happened to us. We made it work because we are still together. Since 2013 we both have been working from home, which is difficult for many couples. We are so used to it that it feels weird when one is not around. It took us many years to get there. Trial and error marked our journey. We learned to communicate more productively. Forgiveness, empathy, and most of all becoming a good listener was key to creating a happy, healthy, loving relationship. Everything I teach and coach I have applied to my own life. I know what is required to get where I am now, and I can show you how too! I little bit about my professional experience: I am a trained life master coach and spent many years mentoring and guiding women who share their life with an addict. With my help, they learned how to cope with this tough situation. I love working with women, but I realized that making a marriage/relationship better needs the participation of both partners. Otherwise, I might teach a woman how to cope with her situation, but the marriage problem does not get solved that way. Picture two trapeze artists who must rely on each other 100% during their act. If only one knows how to catch and release at the right time … I think you can imagine what happens. In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my husband and dog, and yes, exercising to stay fit. I love reading, Italian food, and hanging out with friends.

My name is Chris and I am a leadership professional looking to help provide influence in your life by sharing my experiences and knowledge. My foundation of leadership is built on teamwork, motivation, communication, and empowerment. I want to help you gain the confidence to accept challenges, engage in difficult conversations, properly receive and deliver feedback, and strengthen your collaboration skills. There are many levels to each of these areas and we can speak to as many or as few as are relevant to your needs and expectations. If you are interested in starting a conversation to have me as a speaker individually, in a small group, or on a corporate level please let me know. I'd like to talk to you and learn what your goals are and find a path to attain them. I encourage improving emotional intelligence and providing an open communication environment for your team. I believe these two areas vastly help improve the trust and transparency of a team. I have experience with team building, leading teams, learning communication styles, and conflict management. I'm very enthusiastic, outgoing, and passionate about leadership. I even went back to school at the ripe age of 36 to get my Master's in Leadership! I hope you'll reach out to me for any future speaking engagements or trainings. I've done workshops, trainings, motivational speeches, and numerous presentations to groups up to almost 500 people. I've helped departments build mentor programs and engage in difficult conversations. As someone who has made a drastic career change in his late 30s, I can discuss the advantages to constantly evaluating your goals and mental wellness. There are many advantages to self-assessment and reflection to help you find what you are truly meant to do. As scary as it may be, there is no downside to at least starting a conversation about where you are in your career and where you want to go. I am located in Maine but fully capable of doing virtual trainings as well. We have all had to adapt since COVID-19 and the virtual world can be just as impactful as in person. I look forward to hearing from you soon!

If I worked harder and put in more time and effort, I could become a director and the next step will be the Managing Director. So I kept giving even at the expense of my family and health. Then one day I was called into the MD’s office and as the doors shut, there were a lot of preambles and I did not see it coming but then it hit me right between the eyes as it was delivered. “You are being made redundant and all the details are available in this folder”. As I held my head in my hands, one of the first things that came to my mind and that I said how much this job has affected my family. How I was not really there as my son was growing up. Despite spending 70 hours regularly and sometimes 80 hours a week, I never believed my world could come crashing down just in a meeting with the coldest unkind messenger delivering the message After the initial shock, denial, and anger, I started asking myself how can I turn this around? What if there is a way for me to provide for the family and be there for the family as well. Over a period of 4 years, I searched and looked for “the way”. And I have to say it was painful sometimes and I did make some costly mistakes in the process. However, I managed to turn things around and what I found was that while my income multiplied, my work stress levels reduced and I was more present at home and get to have out with the family and kids. And then I found that there were many dads like myself who are putting in a lot to provide for the family but are not there for the family they are seeking to provide for. Which has led me on a mission to working with men to achieve all round success without burnout, stress and overwhelm so they can spend more time with their family.
