Linda Nazareth is an economist, author, broadcaster, and speaker. The Senior Fellow for Economics and Population Change at the Macdonald-Laurier Institute and a frequent media commentator, she is an expert on demographics and trends, and uses a wide range of media to communicate her observations about a world in transition. Her own career capsulizes what reinvention looks like, and how you have to think out of the box to make the most of what you have. Linda is the author of three books, the most recent of which is Economorphics: The Trends Changing Today into Tomorrow (Relentless Press, 2014). In Economorphics, Linda pulls looks at the megatrends in economics and demographics and and effectively tells the story of the next two decades. From the issues around higher resource prices (if groceries cost more, is Disney doomed?) through to the outlook for the stock market, she gives readers the knowledge they need to craft their futures during turbulent times. In her upcoming book, Work Is Not a Place, Linda takes on the daunting task of explaining the future of work. There are two competing narratives out there, each claiming to explain the future of the labor market. One is all about demographics, and suggests that we are headed to shortages of labor. The other is focused on technology, and claims that robots are going to take everyone’s job. Which is the correct version of the future – or is either or them are an accurate telling of what comes next? From gig jobs through to talent wars, Linda carefully works though what is happening to the world of work and the way that it will affect our lives and organizations.Linda has also been published in many other publications including the Globe and Mail, Canada’s national newspaper. Her own website, www.relentlesseconomics.com fills an almost-empty niche combining analysis of economics, labor markets, demographics and generational issues. Unusually for an economist, Linda spent over a decade as a full time television broadcaster in-house economist for Business News Network (BNN), the business cable arm of CTV (Canada’s biggest private sector broadcaster). Daily she covered the economic news of the day on-air, looking at the markets and the economic indicators and giving viewers analysis and context. Linda was also one of the first economists to accurately warn of the global recession and its likely severity. Prior to joining BNN, Linda was a Senior Economist with CIBC, and earlier in her career she was an economist with the federal government where she specialized in demographic and labor market forecasting. She holds Bachelor of Arts and Master of Arts degrees in economics, both from the University of Toronto. Linda speaks frequently to conferences, corporations and business groups, helping them to look at the big picture and then dilute it down to what it means for their organizations.

Before joining Mastercard, Douglass worked in Washington, DC for 20 years – mostly on Capitol Hill. Immediately prior to Mastercard, Dougalss was Senior Advisor and Speechwriter to U.S. Senator Olympia J. Snowe of Maine. While at Mastercard, Douglass worked on CEO speeches, keynotes, and fireside chats that were given at places ranging from the World Economic Forum at Davos, Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, the China Development Forum in Beijing, as well as many top business schools, including those at Harvard, Stanford, Yale, and New York University. Douglass left Mastercard earlier this year to pursue his obsession with the power of storytelling to differentiate brands and create competitive advantage. That obsession was born out of nearly two years of providing global storytelling workshops at Mastercard. It’s an obsession that has since taken the form of a company he founded – communicate4IMPACT, which specializes in storytelling training. Douglass was recently selected to join a roster of speakers for the virtual presentation company, Geniecast.com – a roster that includes business icons like Steve Wozniak, co-founder of Apple. I played tennis competitively as a youngin and through High School, was a cheerleader, and had a short stint as a break dancer. I have authored 3 books (one was an Amazon Best Seller), trained as a chef, delivered my second baby in a bathtub in Australia, traveled the world, and even had my head shaved by a Buddhist monk at a monastery in Mt. Koya, Japan. I can be heard on my Mindscrambler Podcast. I am also a real estate entrepreneur. I started flipping houses in Houston for 10 years. Then everything came crashing down in 2005. I have survived divorce, bankruptcy, betrayal, multiple deaths in the family, back surgery, suicidal ideations, unplanned relocations, and general all encompassing fear and loneliness. All in about a 2 year period. Buuuut.... (In best Monty Python style.) "I got better." I built myself back up from the absolute deepest darkest most unspelunkerable depths of my soul at about a foot and a half past rock bottom. Shared my journey with thousands, speaking on self improvement, dating and relationships. Found my perfect soulmate, married, had my first child at 48 (you can watch the journey on Netflix's "Being Dad"). We are both coaches, (she's way better than me, BTW), and we travel the world together, speaking and coaching. We have a beautiful home in Texas with goats, donkeys, and chickens. And I am becoming quite the homesteading gardener for my farm to table creations. I look forward to WOWing you and your audiences with ACTIONABLE information, laughter, and inspiration.
