After serving as First Assistant District Attorney of Bedford County for 3 years, Bill successfully ran for District Attorney in 2003. He was sworn in on January 2, 2004. At the time, he was the youngest District Attorney in PA. Bill retired from the practice of law in 2018. Bill is a former member of the Pennsylvania District Attorney’s Association, and served as President of the Bedford Bar Association. Bill’s greatest passion is the PA High School Mock Trial program. He has served the program in nearly every capacity, including serving as statewide coordinator from 2005-2008. In 2010, Bill was honored with the Michael K. Smith Excellence in Service Award for his work with the Mock Trial program. He served as Attorney Coach for Bedford High School’s Team from 2014-2018. Bill served as President of both the Bedford Rotary the Bedford Lions. In 2010, Bill was honored by the Lions as a Melvin Jones Fellow. During the 2012-13 Lions Year, Bill served as District Governor representing 42 Lions Clubs in five counties. During his term as Governor, Bill was recognized for sponsoring the most new Lions in Pennsylvania. Bill is a 2004 graduate of Leadership Bedford County. He is also a 2011 graduate of Pennsylvania Rural Leadership (RULE), a 2 year program that focuses on developing leaders in PA's rural communities. Bill Higgins earned his J.D. from Widener University School of Law in 1999, & his B.A. in English from Villanova University in 1996. In 2006, he was honored by Widener Law as an Outstanding Recent Alumni. I was born on May 14, 1958 in Texas City, Texas and on that day, the world was changed forever. Fear not, my arrogance is not rearing its ugly head by any means, for I believe, that on the day each of you were born, the world was changed and never to be the same again. I will do my best to lighten the load with funny stories from my life as a drunk and drug addict (of which there are many). Then I hope to take you all the way through to the other side where we will leave the darkness (and it gets really dark) and enter the light. So, let’s get started on this journey, shall we? I was delivered from thirty years of addiction to drugs and alcohol, the last ten on heroin, on November 19, 2001. Since then I have written six books on addiction, achieved a BS In Psychology/Addictions, an MA in Addictions Counseling and am licensed in the state of Texas to counsel addicts. I spent 7 years as a youth pastor and 10 in working in the addictions field. Between my experience and education I consider myself an expert in the field. Cleon Jones Jr., M.Ed. was born in Jamaica, New York to Angela and Cleon Jones. His father is celebrated for his 13 year career as the most popular New York Met of all time with his famous catch of the last out in the 1969 World Series. Cleon Jr. and his father are also descendants of captives on the last slave ship to land in the United States of America in 1859, along with having Moorish ancestry from Mobile, Alabama that arrived from Africa approximately 200 years before Europeans according to a great-grandmother simply called, " Mama Tucci", who was a Moor herself that died 1979. She spoke of stories that revealed Europeans settling with Moors in AfricaTown/Plateau, Alabama that were always there. Cleon Jr., was raised in AfricaTown or Plateau, Alabama that was a training ground for great athletes like Hank and Tommie Aaron, Cleon Jones, Tommie Agee, Satchel Paige, and Billy Williams. Cleon Jr. had been a hard working student and a an athlete his entire life because it was a family tradition. He played high school, college and professional football and has been an educator for 20 years. It was not until he walked away from professional football and teaching full-time at a fairly young age that he found himself lost without a true identity. He did not want to walk away from his purpose in life, but he had a notion to sacrifice his dreams for the dreams of others he loved. It was through the 40 years in this emotional torment and spiritual wilderness that Cle found the importance of finding your purpose in life and never walk away from it for any reason.

A leading expert on Chinese contemporary art, Barbara Pollack is an award winning journalist, art critic and curator. Since 1994, Barbara Pollack has written on Chinese contemporary art for such publications as The New York Times, the Village Voice, Art in America, Vanity Fair and Artnews, among many others. Her latest book, Brand New Art from China: A Generation on the Rise, was published by I.B. Tauris in September 2018. In addition to writing, Pollack is an independent curator who organized the groundbreaking exhibition, My Generation: Young Chinese Artists at Tampa Museum of Art, Oklahoma City Museum of Art and the Orange County Museum of Art in 2014 and WeChat: A Dialogue in Chinese Contemporary Art at Asia Society Texas in 2016. More recently, she curated Tu Hongtao: A Timely Journey at the Long Museum, Sun Xun: Prediction Laboratory at the Yuz Museum and Lu Yang: Delusional Mandala at the Museum of Contemporary Art Cleveland. A three-time recipient of the MacDowell Colony Fellowship, she is a professor at the School of Visual Arts in New York and has been awarded two grants from the Asian Cultural Council as well as receiving the prestigious Creative Capital/Andy Warhol Foundation Arts Writer Grant. But most importantly, Pollack began her career as an artist, showing successfully in the New York art world. Her journey from artworld outsider to insider, from provincial New Yorker to global art expert, is compelling and brings new insights into how to navigate the world of contemporary art and how to use art to discover more about global politics.

The farthest that I can remember, I have been a very bright student at academics, music, public speaking, participating in competitions, etc. etc. I have desired to be different, not sure if I knew the meaning of being successful, but yes different. I always tried to choose the road less taken by the people around me. This strategy has helped me gain name and fame. People recognize me as the smartest person in the room. They acknowledge my wisdom and praise me for my ambitious attitude. I love training and mentoring the youth, not so I can build geniuses out of them, but more to save them from the fake trainers. I believe, trainers can't really make someone successful, they are there just to guide and push the capabilities of a person from 0 to 1, the person himself has to go from 1 to 100. But if the wrong guide takes a person from 0 to -1, then the lifetime of efforts, and hard work of the person would all go in vain. My simple goal is to save people from going in the opposite direction and help them go only upwards and forwards.

I've dealt with a chronic illness that traumatized my reproductive system since the age of 16 (I'm now 21) that catapulted anxiety, depression and feeling extremely isolated. No one was talking about the realities of womanhood so I've been making an effort to incorporate my experiences throughout the years and recent egg freezing into my Instagram that has caused a positive reaction from a lot of people who silently go through similar things. Healthcare for those with female reproductive systems is made into a play ground by politicians and not enough research goes into common diseases that are still enigmas such as endometriosis, pelvic adhesions disease ect. Education and awareness about such things are key in the advancement to normalize as well as protect our bodies. Sympathizing with personal accounts helps to actualize these often times hidden realities and therefore generates growth and community.
